Oriental Rail Infrastructure has received its first major contract to supply seats for the Vande Bharat Express, India’s pioneering semi high-speed train.
Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, has awarded the order to Oriental Rail Infrastructure, with a total contract value of Rs 42.89 crore.
Under this contract, the company is responsible for delivering eight sets of a rake set of “seats” without seat-fixing profiles for Trainset-18, also referred to as the Vande Bharat Express.
Delivery is scheduled for 24 July 2026, with payment terms stipulating 95% upon inspection certification and proof of dispatch, and the remaining 5% upon final acceptance.
The company specializes in manufacturing and supplying a wide range of railway products for Indian Railways and allied industries
Its product portfolio comprises seats and berths, recorn, compreg boards, furniture components, coated upholstery fabric, plywood, phenolic resin and hardener, silicon foam, and more.
For Q3 FY25, Oriental Rail Infrastructure posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 7.52 crore, reflecting a 39.9% decline from Rs 12.51 crore in Q3 FY24
Despite the profit drop, the company’s revenue from operations increased by 4.3% year-on-year, reaching Rs 152.82 crore in Q3 FY25.
With this contract, Oriental Rail Infrastructure makes its debut in the Vande Bharat segment—an important step in Indian Railways’ mission to modernize and enhance its train network.
